Chloe Levine stars as Chelsea, a teen with pink hair who runs away with her punk friends after a drug raid at their club ends with one of them.

If the mom in your life loves to take her outdoor adventures into her backyard, give her a Solo Stove fire pit. It’s smokeless, portable and easy to transport – plus it comes with a tray for ash cleanup.

The brand is offering up to 40% off fire pits and $185 off pizza ovens, so you can stock up on the best outdoor gear at a discount. And if you’re a Solo Stove Discount Code Rewards member, you can get an extra $20 off any bonfire purchase.

Well-Trod Ground

Taking a smarter approach to the psychopath, director Jenn Wexler's The Ranger is a tight little slasher film that holds our attention through the first forty minutes before resettling to more well-trod ground. Wexler's ambitions, her performances and her skill in handling the low budget make for a tight little horror movie that offers more than its money would suggest.

Chloe Levine stars as Chelsea, a teen with pink hair who runs away with her punk friends after a drug raid at their club ends with one of them stabbing a cop. The gang takes refuge in Chelsea's dead uncle's cabin, a place that they all grew up visiting. It's a perfect place for them to escape the chaos of their lives, yet they're unaware that they've run into a park ranger who has his own demons to face.

Standard Slasher Movie

It's an interesting twist on the standard slasher movie, with a smarter take on the psychopath and some great acting from Levine. Her character is an interesting mix of innocence and repression, which makes her reactions believable. The way she interacts with a group of hedonistic punks is also intriguing.

The plot doesn't have much depth, but the characters are interesting enough to sustain it. The cinematography is excellent and the choice of authentic locations helps to make the story feel very real. It's a good movie and I liked it a lot.

Plot Pushed Chelsea

I also liked the way the plot pushed Chelsea to confront her past. Her PTSD is explored in flashbacks that show her trying to survive a traumatic event at an early age. It's a great way to introduce the audience to this recurring theme, and it allows us to connect to her.

As she tries to cope with her trauma, she reverts back to her old ways. She and her friends take refuge in her uncle's cabin and soon discover that the elusive park ranger (Jeremy Holm) is also there.

After spending time in the woods, she comes to realize that he has a very different view of the world than her. He has a list of rules that he expects them to follow, and he's not about to let them get away with their bad behavior.

Bloody Scenes

In a film that's billed as a slasher flick, The Ranger focuses more on the relationship between Chelsea and the park ranger than on any of the bloody scenes. The Ranger is kind to our heroine, even when she's in a state of rage, but the rest of his actions are unsettling and he goes to great lengths to enforce his rules.

The Ranger has a lot of interesting ideas, and some excellent performances, but it's ultimately a mediocre slasher film that's missing the thrill it needs to be memorable. It's a shame, because Levine does a great job of portraying the heroine, and Jeremy Holm does a fantastic job as the ranger.

Made of 304 Stainless Steel

If you're looking for a great gift for the outdoors-loving person in your life, Solo Stove has a wide array of items that make the perfect Mother’s Day gift. From fire pit tools to accessories and roasting sticks, we've got something for everyone. The brand's fire pit tools are great for keeping your fire safe and preventing those little accidents from occurring in the first place, while its roasting sticks are ideal for cooking hot dogs or marshmallows over an outdoor fire. The best part about these is that they're made of 304 stainless steel, which means you don't have to worry about them rusting.

If you've always wanted to make wood-fired pizzas, Solo Stove's Pi is the perfect solution. With its thoughtful design and easy setup, you can turn your backyard into a smokeless pizza oven in no time at all.

This pizza oven is available in both a wood-burning and dual-fuel version, which lets you switch out the wood-burning components for a gas burner to get your pizza cooking faster. The dual-fuel option is slightly more expensive, but is an excellent choice if you're looking for a way to cook on a tight budget or want the flexibility of a gas burner.

Home-Grown Culinary Touch

The pizza oven is a great addition to any outdoor space, and it makes a great gift for a new homeowner or anyone who's interested in adding a home-grown culinary touch to their backyard. However, if you're not sure how to use it, Solo Stove has an Essentials Bundle that includes a pizza peel, infra-red thermometer and other essential accessories that'll help you get started with your pizza oven.

Once you've set up your Pi in your backyard, it takes about an hour for the stove to heat up and get to a high enough temperature that you can fire up your first pizza. You can use the infra-red thermometer to make sure it's at 650F, the recommended temperature for cooking stone-baked pizza. You can also use a digital temperature gauge to track your oven's progress.

Whether you're making a pizza for your family or just enjoying a slice after a game, this oven is sure to be a hit. Plus, it's easy to clean. Just scrubbing with a damp rag can help remove ash and other buildup that naturally accumulates as you use the stove.

Backyard Clean Tidy

While you're preparing your pizza, you can also make your own bread and other baked goods. This is a great way to save money and have a delicious meal while keeping your backyard clean and tidy.

For those who like to host parties and gatherings, this oven is also a great choice. It's lightweight and compact, which means you can easily move it around your yard without lugging a large oven or an entire brick oven in the process. You can even add a grill to the top for added versatility.

As a bonus, this pizza oven comes with a lifetime warranty and is made to last - so you can feel confident buying it for your loved ones for years to come. Stainless steel is the material of choice for this stove, which gives it a sleek look that will complement your other outdoor decor.

Final Words:

The Pi is a fantastic piece of outdoor entertaining equipment that you won't regret investing in. Whether you're making pizza or just bringing it to the next picnic or cookout, this wood-fired pizza oven is sure to be a hit. And because it's made by a company that knows how to create quality products, you can rest assured you'll be getting your money's worth.

While Pi's story is a cautionary tale of what can go wrong if you let your guard down, it's an extremely moving one with a lot to teach us about perseverance and faith in the face of unfathomable odds. It's a beautiful dramedy that will appeal to all ages, especially young audiences who can appreciate Tim Hatley's stunning sets and costumes, Andrzej Goulding's video and animation and Carolyn Downing's sound design.
