Boca Express Train Museum

When you visit the Boca Express Train Museum, you’ll feel like you are stepping back in time. You’ll hear the familiar sound of “all aboard!” as people step on and off the trains. The experience will bring back memories of a simpler time, when people dressed in elegant clothes.

The Train Museum is housed in a restored 1930 Florida East Coast Railway (FEC) train station built in the Mediterranean Revival style. It was designed by Chester G. Henninger and built for Clarence Geist to receive guests at his resort. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1980.

Holly Meehan and her mother bought the property for $2.4 million last year from the Historical Society, which put it up for sale citing a drain on its resources. The new owners plan to keep the society’s Ticket to Ride program that allows 1,000 schoolchildren each year to dress in rail car costumes and learn how trains influenced Boca Raton history. They also plan to keep the original train depot on the site.
