One of the most exciting developments in professional pickleball this year was the establishment of the National Pickleball League, a new pro league created for champion pros in 2023. The NPL will host a Players Combine in March 2023 to determine which Champions pros will be drafted to play on six different weekends from June-October, culminating with a Championship weekend at Chicken N Pickle’s thrilling indoor entertainment facilities.

The APP Boca Raton tournament showcased the excitement of this new pro league. It featured the top pickleball players competing for a $75,000 prize. The event was held at the Patch Reef Park Tennis Center and was hosted by Foster Events Group, LLC. The APP tournament was the first sanctioned tour that allowed amateurs and pros to set performance goals, compete against their peers, and track results while adhering to USA Pickleball guidelines.
