Cardinals DeAndre Hopkins addresses trade rumors in Instagram post Who said I wanna leave

Cardinals receiver DeAndre Hopkins on Monday provided something of a confusing update to ongoing rumors that he wants to be traded out of Arizona.Hopkins has been tied to numerous teams as a trade candidate this offseason, with the Bills and Chiefs New York Mets Jersey reportedly his preferred destinations. Even if the Cardinals were unable to find a suitable trade partner for the 30-year-old receiver, some speculated the franchise would simply cut the receiver to create cap space, even if it meant taking a dead cap hit in the proce s.But the veteran posted on Instagram that he not only is still working in Arizona, but also suggested he doesn't want to leave the franchise:Looks like DeAndre Hopkins is back in Arizona, via his IG.I see everybody telling me to stay. Who said I wanna go? Who said I wanna leave? Ari Meirov (@MySportsUpdate) MORE: That is a notable reversal by Hopkins, who as recently as April 16 suggested he would be . But the Cardinals, who have a first-year coach in Jonathan Gannon and first-year GM in Wilmer Flores Jersey Monti O senfort, did not move the five-time Pro Bowl receiver before or during the 2023 NFL Draft (even as the franchise made trades to move forward and back in the first round).Former Cardinals GM Steve Keim on Friday provided some insight as to why Arizona didn't trade Hopkins:" Jacob DeGrom Jersey Here's the problem: The problem is his current contract," Keim said. "Hop was his own agent, and I can tell you that wasn't the easiest (negotiation) in the world. Between him and Larry Fitzgerald, that put all the gray on my beard."They're probably going to have to come to understand that they're probably not going to get as much as they would if he was a younger player or his contract was considerably lower, where you could get him for a second-round (pick)," Keim said. "It Adrian Gonzalez Jersey could end up being a second- or third-day draft pick to really get it done. Probably get a new deal done."MORE: It's po sible the Cardinals could still cut Hopkins, whom they have already paid bonus money for the next two seasons. But if Arizona can't get the return it wants for the veteran receiver, it also makes sense to try and maximize his remaining time with the team.Hopkins had 115 receptions for 1,407 yards and six touchdowns in 2020, his first season in Arizona. He has only played 19 combined games since, combining to grab 106 catches for 1,289 yards and 11 touchdowns in 2021 and 2022 due to injuries and a suspension.Hopkins could very well have played his last game for Tim Tebow Jersey Arizona. But for now, it seems as if he will remain a part of the Cardinals' plans for the future. How long that lasts remains to be seen.
