Leading US crypto exchange Coinbase unveiled its roadmap for developing metaverse-related projects.

According to a blog post from Coinbase chief executive Brian Armstrong and the company’s identity product lead Alex Reeve, the top US crypto exchange aims to develop an “identity on-ramp” into the metaverse.

The leaders of Coinbase noted that the on-ramp’s development is driving the company's work with the Ethereum Name Service (ENS), an open-source, blockchain-based identity protocol.

Note that ENS allows people to mint NFTs usernames that can be linked to web domains and Ethereum addresses.

In addition, Armstrong and Reeve emphasize that people will dab ENS to carry a unique ID across different virtual worlds within the metaverse. Not to mention that the crypto exchange listed the ENS governance token last month.

Further, Coinbase officials said they’re also working on technology that will enable users to buy other users’ avatars. Aside from this, users could define and maintain their public profile, and establish trust.

Moreover, they are also working on features like Sign in with, which could allow users to sign in to every app in the Metaverse.
