Beginner Lessons

Charlotte doesn’t often come up when people think of the best places to learn tennis, but this city is underrated when it comes to a variety of programs for new and novice players. Its mild climate and active community make it easy to find group lessons or a friendly match at a local gym, club or public park.

Beginners can start with beginner group tennis lessons, which help students become familiar with game play and rules while interacting with other students. This also gives beginners the chance to work on their strokes with a coach who can answer any questions they may have. Beginners should also consider taking one-on-one private tennis lessons, which provide more specific and targeted instruction.

Another great option for beginner players is to join a tennis team, or participate in a round robin with fellow members of the community. Many clubs offer these groups year-round, and they can be an excellent way to improve your skills while having fun.

Tennis 101 is a beginner-level class that introduces adult players to the fundamentals of this lifetime sport.
